Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov

Deputy Secretary General, Organization of Turkic States (OTS)

Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov has served as Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) since October 2020. In this role, he coordinates cooperation among Member and Observer States, focusing on key areas such as transport, customs, and regional connectivity. Dr. Azimov holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in International Law, as well as a PhD in International Law from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent. He has over 20 years of experience in international law and diplomacy, having held various roles in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, including Director of the Treaty and Law Department (2012-2020) and Head of Division (2010-2012). Prior to joining OTS, he served as an Adviser at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretariat in Beijing from 2006 to 2010.
